The safety of selling on behalf depends on who you entrust your vehicle to. Compared to a dealer’s quick cash payment, this option can be a more secure and profitable alternative.
At Travel Cars NZ, we offer peace of mind. As a registered car dealer, we provide a signed contract stating how much you will be paid once your vehicle is sold—no surprises.
Since 2013, we have specialized in selling campervans and backpacker cars, ensuring the best price and market timing.
2. Guarantees & Payment Concerns
We guarantee a sale within six months. If your campervan isn’t sold by then, you will still receive the minimum price stated in the contract.
For example, if your campervan is worth $15,000 in peak season, and we agree on a minimum price of $13,500, you can be certain that it will sell for at least the minimum price.

3. Vehicles We Do NOT Accept
Travel Cars NZ buys vehicles regularly, but not all qualify for the “on behalf” service. We do not accept:
- Vehicles worth less than $15,000
- Vehicles older than year 2000
- Vehicles with major mechanical or bodywork issues
- Campervans worth over with poor interior conversions or in bad condition
4. Finding the Sale Price Before Leaving Your Campervan
To determine your vehicle’s sale price, contact us via WhatsApp with technical details and photos.
We will assess your campervan and confirm if it qualifies for the “on behalf” option. We can also provide a quick cash offer so you can compare both options.
📌 Seasonal Note: If you leave your campervan with us between March and July, it will not be listed for sale until mid-August, with likely sales occurring between September and October.
5. Fees for Selling Your Campervan on Behalf
At Travel Cars NZ, we charge a flat 30% commission apart from any costs involved on selling the car again road-worthy:
- A new WOF
- A new service
- Any necessary work to ensure the vehicle is safe for the road
No Extra Fees for: Storage, cleaning, mechanical inspections. Repairs (if required) are not included in the commission.

The process is simple and takes about 30 minutes upon arrival at our yard.
