📝 Why These Changes?
Auckland Transport is dealing with rising costs to keep the city moving. To help cover these, the Auckland Council’s Long-Term Plan encourages AT to boost income—mainly through parking fees.
The idea is pretty simple: if you use a parking spot, you help pay for the upkeep. These changes aim to keep things fair while still looking after the city’s parking spaces.
🌇 Resident Parking
Right now, new resident parking permits aren’t being given out in the city centre. But if you already have a permit, you’re still good—nothing changes for you.
Auckland is using time limits and pricing to manage parking better. It’s all about keeping things fair, reducing congestion, and helping the city stay easy to move around while staying lively and fun.
